Dendritic cells

Dendritic cells:

Dendritic cells are special types of cells involved in immune responses. They are concerned with antigen presentation to the immune system for the production of antibodies to protect us from foreign invaders.
There are two types of dendritic cell:
1) Interdigitating dendritic cell.
2)Follicular dendritic cell.

Interdigitating dendritic cell:

These cells are present in our epidermis. They are principally involved in the antigen presentation.

Follicular dendritic cells:

They are found in the germinal centers of lymph nodes and spleen. It has receptors for IgG and C3B on their surface. When any antigen is bound with IgG or C3B, then they are trapped by these cells and they present this trapped antigen for immune response.
